It's time. Wheels for the CLS.

Guys I have been on the fence on it, but now I want to up my rims from OEM. I have been looking at several Lexani/Asanti's. Pics, and vote on which you think would fit me best. My CLS is Black on Black.

Honsetly I would not go with any of those brands you just mentioned. I would look at Maya, GFG, Agetro, HRE, BBS, M-Concept, 360 Forged and I-Forged if I were you. I would even powder coat the stock rims black before purchasing Asanti/Lexani wheels. Just my 2 cents. Good luck on the purchase though.

I would check out some VIP modular or HRE rims in a brushed/diamond cut face with chrome/polished lip.

Question, may I ask why not Asanti/Lexani? I have heard a lot of good things about them, know many that have them. Cost wise, I have seen some HRE's for about 4-6 grand. Same ballpark, for the others pretty much.

I will look at some HRE's, but I really liked the LSS-10's. Feedback and comments are welcome....

Issue is, on the lowenhart's that is a little too big for what I wanted. 20's is as far as I wanted to go. I was going with a staggered fitment, 8.5 front, 10 in the back.

Again, can someone tell me why Lexani/Asanti is a bad choice? Examples, stories, or websites are cool. Wheels/tires/brakes are the most important parts of a car. More than an anything else, that's what keeps you safe.

All the guys I know that have Asanti/Lexani say they are great rims, forged. Low profile tires, of course leaves you open to bang your lips, but that can happen with any rim. Let me know the deal guys.

Thanks Alex, like the pics. Question again is, what is wrong with Lexani/Asanti's? Three people have said to stay away from them, but no reason as to why. Alex, can you give me the scoop? In googling, etc all I see is good things about them...

I want to get quality rims, staggered fitment, with some Black and chrome in the rim design.

If youre going to pay x amount of $$ for the Lexani/Asanti dont forget to check Vellano. One of my favorites and VERY VERY quality wheel. I've seen their shop setup and bulid process.

I think the rap behind Lexani/Asanti although they cater to upper class cars, it seems like they end up on cars that are too extreme, trying to hard, or a lower class of vehicle, thus bringing the "name" down....although I still like some of their models.

Personally, I like the bigger mesh style or classic 5 spoke on the CLS.

I will take a look at Vellano's. What did you thin about the LSS-10 Lexani's?

Sure, I see rims of all brands that are put on POS's here in the Atl. I saw these on a S Class, a charger SRT, they looked hot.

I'd go with the Asanti's. Always been a big favorite of their rims.

I am interested in these wheels myself...20"

Also was this car lowered to get that effect of the wheels? If so what did you do to lower it?

PM me the best price for tires and those rims. What size tires on the front and rear?

Smile I'm in the same boat for wheels

As of right now I have the OEM 18inch wheels on my 500. I'm looking to upgrade. I considered going to 20's with the LEX/Ashante or Symbolic wheel but not sure about the ride. I'm now looking back at a more conservative chrome 19"" AMG wheel. Any suggestions?

I think I will pull the trigger on the LSS-10's. The have a stainless steel lip that can be replaced if it gets rashed even though the LSS-10's are a one piece rim.

Let those country bamas in those Chrystler 300's and Dodge Magnums/Chargers sport those Saturday night, back woods, dirt road wheels down those country blvds. No disrespect, but... Modulare,360Forged,Sevas,Maya make a great wheel that will compliment your 219. Not Lexani or Asanti! Hell... I doubt if you can even change the center cap with a benz logo.

Not sure on the logo, I will look into that. On the list you gave I will check them out as well. Sevas is definitely not on my list as they have been called out for fabrication problems and rims flying apart. The owner was a complete jerk after the man made a claim, and had to call the news to get a refund. Story is on the forum.

you cannot change the logo to benz on the lexi/asanti. they use a very small custom center cap.

Ok, good to know. I will check into the Vossens price wise and go at it. 360 forged, thanks for the pics but I don't see a rim that fits the look I am looking for. I may be missing it...

Something like this: Click here

or

This:

or

Perhaps I should give 360 a call as well.

If I had to go with Vossen, I would go with this new design wheel... fits your description of 2 tone and brush with black.... and you can put Mecerdes center cap on these wheels... I believe is between $2500 to $3000 new with tires...

Yeah, I don't think our style is fitting your taste, but it's all good - I'd go with Vossen if I were you, good looking classy wheels, and good price. GL man!

Well, well, after talking to Vossen, Lexani, HRE, Discount Tire, Butler Tire I am going with the Vossen's VVS083 Black machined rim.

This was the pivot:

1. The Lexani LSS-10's are not hubcentric and would require spacers upon request. A month out on production of them, not to boot, they are not custom made.

2. The Vossen's are hubcentric, custom made to fit my CLS offset, and are available after being made.

3. The price, get this: Lexani's are $400 per rim not including shipping. The Vossen's: $365 for the front, $400 for the rear per rim. Total for Michelin Pilot A/S and rims out the door with road hazard replacement is: $3165. Better than I thought. Discount tire even said they would give me a credit for my old tires. Awesome...

4. The lip is bigger for the Vossen's 9 in the front, 10.5 in the rear. I can run the 35/30 aspect for the tires which is what I wanted. 25/20 is way too low.

5. Ends up I like the Vossen's better as well on the look.

Thanks for all the advice guys!

As a few of the people have said before, for the same amount of money, you can get a far better quality wheels such as HRE, Modulare, Brabus, Carlsson etc.

Feel free to contact me for some options
