hands free communication?????

Just purchased a 08 Jade Green AMG Sports pkg cls 550. Traded in an 06 slk 350. I was going for the slk 55 but when I drove the cls there was no comparison.

My question is my car has the P01 Premium pkg which says it includes hands free communication system. But I can't find anything hands free except the blue tooth phone. Isn't there supposed to be something in the steering wheel. Did they forget to include this? Before I go back to the dealer I wanted to hear what you guys may know.

thanks
Pat

It has the pre-wire for hands free. The connection is in your center console and you have to purchase the bluetooth "puck" from the parts department. Will most likely be around $500+ tax.

I purchased the bluetooth puck, phone works great but I have to manually dial etc. I thought hands free meant voice communication/command to the ph, radio, ac etc. to do something... "call home" "Radio station xyxx". etc.
thanks

hands free

what i bought was a mb bluetooth phone puck. The dealer was going to charge 450 for it but when i spoke to their phone tech guy he said he had an extra for 250. I paid him cash. He simply plugged it in like a usb connector in the arm rest storage compartment. It works great. it instantly loaded up my contacts, dialed and received numbers.

In thinking about it I guess this is what MB means by hands free communication.

Also I would imagine there are aftermarket bluetooth pucks. Sorry not sure where to get those but I can say I haven't had any problem. It really works great. You might want to go to your local dealer and talk to their phone tech. Ask him if you can buy one directly from him. Bring cash.

'Voice Control' is a seperate feature/option, and is what would allow you to do many of the other items you are describing. It is seperate from the phone pre-wiring.

hands free comm.

"Hands free Communications" to me means having "Voice Control" or how can it be Hands Free. I guess there is always another option to buy.

I'm being too picky. Absolutely love this car.

thanks
