MP3 DVD Playback (US COMAND UNIT)
I just want to see if anyone can confirm which headunit supports this feature and whether or not it needs to be enabled via the "Secret Menu" (which I couldn't find in that secret menu)
It seems, early production US-delivered CLS contained specfic COMAND head units that contained a DVD drive and supported MP3-DVD playback (NOT Video Playback), not all COMAND head units supported this feature.
The following are the USA COMAND Unit Model/Part #s that have been used in both the W219 and W211:
- A211 870 02 89 (Becker BE7024)
- A211 820 23 97
- A211 920 27 97
1) Does anyone know which one of these support MP3-DVD playback?
2) Those who have it playing and know how to get into the engineering mode screen, can you please let us know which head unit model # you have?
3) Can anyone confirm whether or not this needs to / can be enabled under the secret menu, if so where?

I upgraded to a North american Comman for my W211 and to my surprise the command plays MP3. I thought that was only an option on the European Commands.
On top of this my 6-CD changer also plays Mp3s. Again, that was a shocker but in a good way.
So according to you it might also play mp3-DVDs.
That would be wicked.
What model # was your original COMAND unit?
Reason I ask is because I was wondering if it was the A211 870 02 89 aka Becker 7024, which supposedly has DVD MP3 drive support.
