Somewhat familiar with the CLS..

My first years of college I spent my part time duties as a detailer for an M-B dealer here in WI. I was there when the CLS first came out and got to drive them from time to time...

Now, my girlfriend has some serious interest in a CPO'd one.. and unfortunately, I haven't really followed them that much since, so I'm curious if there are any common gremlins..

There is a green '06 for sale (private party) with 31k for $38,500 OBO...

I haven't seen it yet but I think it's a decent price..

I can't think of any options it has...other than lighting pkg, nav,

How would you all rate the '06 MY? I have some ownership experience with M-Bs.. My mother has an R350, and I leased a C300 before I bought a house, and they've been decent. Appreciate the help!

Knock on wood, I haven't had any real problems with my 06. Car has been great. I would offer a less than what they are asking. I think you can get one from a dealer cheaper.

I bought my 06 about 5 months ago. From what I have learned, these are very durable cars but can be pricey if problems arise. I looked at private party and decided to go with MB dealership CPO. I also paid a few grand to extend the warranty further. The warranty is great and covers almost everything. I had some chipping chrome on the cup holder and a dash vent that would stay where put, both replaced free with the warranty. In my case I find it worth the peace of mind knowing the car is well inspected and warranted.

No, I got Mercedes extended warranty. They only make them available on Mercedes Certified Pre-Owned.
