New 2012 CLS... Anyone in the same boat?
Here's what is really bothering me lately regarding the new 2012 CLS. To start off, the 2012 CLS looks like a combination of the S Class' little brother and the C Class' big brother, rather than the sleek "Coupe +2" it was designed to be. Our current CLS has sexy lines yet an undeniably aggressive stance, the perfect mix in my opinion, and also what also sets it apart from any other Mercedes (and until recently - any other car in general). I believe MB is trying to sprinkle the C & S Class into the new CLS for two reason - the Hyundai Sonata, and the VW CC. These flat-out, blatant immitations/horribly ugly knock-offs really **** me off. I feel as though Mercedes has veered from improving our current CLS simply because they do not want to continue being immitated and/or "looking like a Sonata". My hopes for the new CLS would have been fulfilled if 2012 revision mirrored the recent revision of the SL, it's still the same car, just with a bit more aggression added. Am I the only person who is angry at this and terribly let down? Or the only person who's incredibly aggravated at the fact that I once had one of the most unique automobiles on the road, but now there's a cheap knock-off at every light? I'd like to hear what you guys think!

Disagree. The exact same comments were made about the W212 when it debuted and before anyone had spent any time in the seat. Just about everyone who made those silly premature comments have since bought a W212 and never looked back.
Give it some time my fellow MB lover. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

^The w212's rear had tons of people gasping. And after seeing it in person, I'm pretty certain that most agree the rear end of it, is hideous...the coupe looks good though.
As for the 2012 CLS, I love the look of it. I do agree its not as sleek as the original but does look more aggressive..I still think it looks good.

The old one - harmonious and seemingly designed from an aesthetical blank sheet. Jaw droppingly gorgeous.
The new one - 3 different cars cobbled together desperately trying to adhere to the new MB design vernacular.

The 2012 CLS looks awesome! I'm getting one. I have a W212. I had a W211 and then went to a Lexus (that was a mistake). When I went back to the E550, at first I didn't like the W212 styling. But, now that I see them more on the road, I am proud that I own one. And, I think the back of the W212 looks great -- especially at night when the LED lights are on.
The 2012 CLS is hot! It makes the C219 look 20 years old.
