Question about CLS AMG CLS55 or 63

I am seriously considering a CLS 55 or 63...most likely a 63 because of residual warranty and being able to take care of any squawks prior to warranty running out.
Today I asked the guy who works on my 2000 E320 and 2009 E350 and he had not too many good things to say about the CLS or AMG versions of the CLS . Every repair is expensive and he dreads the phone calls to owners... he said.
He's pretty **** about his work, does great work on Mercedes only but sometimes is overly critical. He drives a 20 y/o Benz with 250k miles.
I know the AMG isn't a basic E320 so I have some expectation that maintenance will be more.
Just so I can balance things, are you guys of the opinion that for someone who keeps a car for about 5 or 6 years and gets one with low mileage and takes care of the car(timely PM's, oil changes early, change fluids in half the usual time etc) that the issues with the added complexity are no more than any other car of this type?
Thanks for the feedback

E55 then E63, now back to an E55
No more issues than any comparable cars....
Keep up on regular maintenance (KEY) - these cars are quite reliable daily drivers.
Don't compare these to a 348 or Testarossa Ferrari for instance.

Source: Owned 3 E-class AMGs, & had much seat time in SL's, CLS's, and S-classes. Have many associates who own/owned those cars, that I see on a regular basis, and we always discuss cars. I would know if any major issues kept popping up. Buy the car & enjoy.

Go for it! You only live once! I'm planning on purchasing a 63 also! Good luck!

CLS 550
Definitely do it! You will love the CLS. And also, I dont know if you're the type to modify your cars at all but if you're into adding little things here and there, you may want to consider the 55 over the 63 due to it being a little more tangible when it comes to the modification department..

2010 AMG 63
Great car but Benz don't stand behind the car

Any great car can have a recall. Any great car after receiving a front end recall, after 2 repair attempts over 8,000 miles, can get mis worn tires. Any great company would sat d behi d the mistake, and replace the tires.
Not Benz. They tried to rotate the mis worn tires around to "minimize" the issues.
I did the right thing for the car and bought new tires. I am very disappointed by a company that produces such a great car. Gotta say..,never happened with the beamer
