Hello all! I am looking to buy a 2008 CLS 550 from a used car dealer. The car pretty much has all the options nav/rear camera, with AMG sport package. It has 42 k miles on it and is still under factory warranty until Sept '11. The guy is asking 38K, good price?

Also, the main questions is, where can I get good extended warranty from? something that will cover the car for an additional 3 years, up to 100K miles? Similar coverage as the CPO warranty so I have the piece of mind. I have read here that mercury is good, but when I go to the website, it says not available in Maryland.

Can someone please share there experience with me? any recommendations of after market companies that can assure coverage and will not bail out and make excuses when needed.

Extended warranties I'm not sure.

I bought an '07 CLS 550 about 6 months ago, got mine for $36 - it had 25k miles. Great condition and lovely car all around. You will never dread a long drive again if it's going to be behind the wheels of the CLS 550. It's a car apart from the rest, that's for sure.

Any ideas about warranty? what is better? I am reading Fidelity Platinum is.. Any body has experience using them?

 

38K for a 2008 with 40K miles is too much money. I just purchased mine with 7K miles and the CPO extended warranty for 46K but I could have purchased a lesser equiped CLS with 19K miles for 39K. Keep looking...you should be able to do better.
