Answer is yes and it looks great. Did is with a 30 and 35 profile tire. 30 looks better. Some of the tire bulges out slightly so not perfectly flush with the rim.
I like the look makes it aggressive. lll try to take some pics

I did it on a 216 cl65. Whether it will rub on the wheel well of the cls or not I don't know. You can test it. With the CL you can have a good body shop gently roll in the inner wheel well to make extra room without affecting the paint or body or anything else.

CLS550 AMG Pkg.
295 on a 9.5 works well on my OEM 18 rears. I run 295/35/18 Michelin Pilot Alpins in the winter
