Bluetooth help
I have a 2006 CLS 500 and wanted to install a bluetooth device. The problem is my car doesnt have the dongle already wired in. I've seen where people have purchased the bluetooth adapter with tail and hooked it to the SOS plug but that was on older model E-classes. Will this work on a CLS 500? If not, what are the other ways?

You have one of two options available to you if you choose to use genuine MB parts. If you open your console, is there a dock for the bluetooth puck? If so, then all you need is the bluetooth puck. ($350 from the dealer or around $100 on ebay. There are different versions, so do some research and get the latest one.) If you do not have the dock, you will need the bluetooth module, puck and installation kit. (this setup cost me around $800) Installation is fairly simple either way. Its all plug and play as the install kit comes with an adapter for the MOST (fiber optic) system.

Thanks alot. Do you know which kit that is? Or part number? I've tried finding it online but can only find the puck. My car doesn't have the dock. Thanks again

Contact Keith Valentine. His email is cellguy@live.com He will get you setup with all the parts you need and he knows his stuff when it comes to bluetooth, satellite radio, etc. Found his phone number, give him a call if you want to speak directly with him. (714-746-5930)

There is also the iTronic BT - eliminates the need for a dock, puck, etc - and the sound quality is much higher - AND - you can add music/iPod functions if you like. There are many client reviews here. Behaves EXACTLY as a factory installed system, but with more features.

Only if you install all the music functions. Bluetooth phone functions have no effect on the changer. Even if you do install the music functions, you always have the single disk available.
