Soon-to-be CLS owner

After 4yrs of absence I'm back to the MBWorld.
Long story short, I've had my eyes on a 07 CLS550 with Premium pkg, with 50,000 km (30,000 miles), one owner and local car, for CDN$40K. Do you guys think it's a good deal?
Anyway, I went back today dor a 2nd test drive, and found that the right rear is sagging a bit. Testing the airmatic also showed that that side doesn't raise or lower equally as the rest of the shocks.
Now dealer refused to fix it as part of our purchase agreement, saying that this is not a critical problem. They are not planning to dump another $2K onto a used car which thet've recently slashed price on.
What do u think? I'm not spending 2K either to fix it. But is it worth it to proceed with purchase and get a remanufactured suspension unit from that place that everyone raved about (forgot name) ?
Any feedback is appreciated.

Well since you are in Canada.. I can't say for sure if 40k for 07 is a good deal. I mean I do know that cars are more expensive in Canada and used car market is not filled with high end models like it is in US. But still to me it sounds like a very bad deal. Plus this is CLS we are talking about.. airbag suspension, if it already has problems.. don't even think about it. You don't wanna spend thousands of dollars after your purchase. It's almost 2012, why don't you wait for a couple of months.. I'll say go for at least 08 and I would highly recommend a CPO. Don't rush your purchase.. take your time and make sure you find the right one. It's a beautiful car and you don't regret your purchase later on.

good luck

Walk. Don't ever get a rush on buying a car, and definitely not one with a known airmatic issue. I would pass.

To break it down that $40K CDN works out to $39,662.90 in US dollars (currently).

Take a look at these on Ebay. You can find better for the same or a little more money.

Look on other source as well, autorader, etc.

@BigBen: I wish I can import MB from the States without adding $6K on top.

I know it may add some, just saying look at some alternatives in Canada and US, I would. It may be worth the extra to get a car in better condition, on that CLS in particular, who knows what else the dealer is not disclosing? Just a thought.

On the vendor, are talking about them? http://www.arnottindustries.com/part_MERCEDES-BENZ_Air_Suspension_Parts_yid18_pid129.html

Yes BigBen. I was talking about Arnott Industries.
I've read some goods and bads about their products. At least they stand behind them and respond quickly if anything doesn't go well.
