S55 AMG wheels fit CLS500?
I have looked high and low and cannot find the answer. I have the opportunity to acquire a set of S55 AMG 19" wheels offset 40mm and 44mm...will these fit my CLS? Tire sizes 275/35-19 and 245/40-19. Please help

"no" is not an accurate answer.
I just picked up a set myself from the S55 and they will fit, with spacers. You're most likely going to need 15MM in front and 20MM in rear.
I was able to bolt them on without spacers. The rears sit somewhat well, but they were in too far. As for the fronts, they were in also but it was the bolt on the control arm that was my concern. It was WAYYY too close for comfort. When I say you could slide maybe a couple of sheets of paper between the bolt and the tire, I'm not exaggerating.
Although extremely hesitant to do so, I'm going to order the spacers and give it a shot. If the ride is garbage, or they rub, they're going right on craigslist.
However, they will fit.

The official answer is: they will fit, but with spacers. You just need to figure our what size spacer you need. Like I said, most likely 15MM in front and 20MM in rear.
A lot of people do not like to use spacers, I'm on the fence about it. In the end, it's up to you.
Now, if the offset is too low< you would have to have the centers machined/milled down to make them fit. This is complicated and I would say shy away from. However, that is not the case here.
Best of luck to you
