My car was lowered with a slight modification to the stock links, I think they do this mod to the E-Class's with Airmatic, and slightly modifying the rear to drop the back down. It looks incredible, but I think it's too low for freeway driving. I went the cheap route, it was $250 for the drop.

you mean you have washer in front and link adjusted in the rear for the over all drop? either way it look's great but remember safety 1st. ride quality 2nd. great looking CLS can't wait for upgrades to be done.

Yup.. I've heard from a few people that no matter how you lower it, it's still going to be riding on air suspension, so it wont make a huge difference.. ie. putting on coilovers vs. just lowering springs.

Still not 100% sure about my current setup.. but we'll see.

@S500 Man: The Carlsson mod.. will it void the warranty? I think going the "cheap" way isn't what I should have done.

Nope i told my dealer about Carlsson Lowering Module before i put it in, and they were cool with it but i was also cool with my service advisor at the time...but i never had any suspension issues either...also its plug and play no wire splicing or cutting, just plug it in and take it off within a few minutes. yea i paid $750 for my Carlsson module used...look around, it retails for $1495.00 but it def does the job and does it well also automatically adjust to bumpy road conditions.

"7-Way-Adjustable Suspension Lowering Module electronically lowers any CLS-Mercedes to your preferred height, up to 30mm. This “new generation” module is equipped with Carlsson’s exclusive “Smart Lowering Technology”, a demand-responsive system that allows the driver to enjoy a high level of ride comfort in all situations by automatically and electronically adjusting your car’s ride height when uneven road surfaces are detected.

By plugging the module directly into your existing ECU, your Mercedes CLS-Class will instantly experience less body roll, less aerodynamic drag, and a more pleasing appearance. Instructions are included."
