Hello all modders . Am from UK, have read many threads and wish to attempt this myself. Got a 320cdi with amg bumper cover and parktronic from factory. I have undid all screws and bumper tray, disconnected fogs and parktronic at seperation point. Partially removed wheel arch covers. Am now STUCK

Am at a loss to find screw 7 and termination strip? referred to in pic below..

Have mounting tool but ostensibly it comes into use later after termination strip release. Panel sequence below is clockwise and i dont understand 2,3,4

Please be gentle guys!

Anyone do this without removing ballast , only bulbs with bake method?
Is it safe?
Rather not mess up auto levelling and have heard that heatgun much hotter although granted it can be directed/ focussed more effectively than oven bake method.

Please chime in those who have had experience. thx

Oven is the safest way. Heat gun dosent get equal heat to whole housing. the whole reason for baking is to be able to pull apart to alow the orignal sealer (weather stripping / glue) to soften so you can seperate easy. If you use a heat gun you could melt the housing and if its not heated enough you might have a problem seperating the 2 peices and could crack housing.

thanks CLSED I will use oven bake method tonight with ballasts removed and all bulbs. Assume Wiring ok to remain in situ?
I was only entertaining heatgun method because of reluctance to remove ballasts as Juno has suggested no need for ballast removal in another thread

....but I see that links to his previous guides are removed / dead?

Just dont want to fry anything delicate. I wont be cracking anything as Im only feeble and qute patient... many thanks for chiming in.. I have a better idea of what is involved.
