2007 CLS63 Bixenon problem

I just recently purchased a 2007 CLS63 and found the right low beam to be inoperative. My high beams and blinkers work just fine. I took it in to a local shop and of course, they told me it wasn't the bulb. So I decided to take it in to the MB dealership and they told me it wasn't the ignitor either and I would need the entire headlamp replaced.
I do not know much about cars but its an easy fix for the dealer to just replace the entire headlamp set and take a couple grand out of my account. My question is, could my problem be fixed by replacing a part from the headlamp instead of the entire set? Does anyone know if it could be anything else? If its not the ignitor, could it be the ballast? But my other concern is, doesn't the high and low beam run on the same ballast, so if my ballast was bad, wouldn't my high beam not work? Could it possibly be a fuse and where would that be located? Any input is much appreciated. Thanks.

xenon headlight problems

my drivers side low beam is broken again . I just replaced my headlight unit which I bought on the net used .
I don't know what the problem is but I am taking a wild guess it's the ballast that can with the unit .
one evening while I was driving the head lamp sort of flickered and the next second I had no more light .
I took it to the stealership and they told me that the electrical current something ???
now I am back on eBay looking for a oem ballast , is there a ballast that I can use that dips not from hella ?
this is my second ballast problem in one month.
