Dealers said unable to reset service reminder
Saw lots of info re FSS but nothing specific to my issue. Sorry if I missed something.
Last year (2011) had my annual service done but the tech said he was unable to reset service reminder and that I should drive about 100 miles and come back. I went back the next and told him to fix. It which was done.
This year (2012) I went to a different dealer for annual service and was told the same thing, the service reminder cannot be reset. Again I went back a few days later and had the reminder reset.
In both cases I was told that it had to be placed on the "computer" to reset.
So why didn't they do that right after the service was done? Moreover, I was told it probably wasn't worth the $$ to check it out.
I'm becoming a bit wary because this might cause me a problem down the road after my warranty has expired. Since both dealers had a problem resetting, it seems as if there is problem and should be fixed.
Has any one had this experience, is this a common problem?
2007 CLS550, 17k, extended warranty 2/2014. Thanks for help. Love my car, want to enjoy it.
