CLS 500 Airmatic Strut Help

I have a CLS 500 that I'm trying to replace the driver side airmatic strut. I've got the old one off. However, when I'm trying to install the new one, there isn't enough clearance for me to get the bottom portion of the strut over the arm to put the bolt in. The blown strut wasn't a problem at all. I just pushed up on it and it compressed enough for me to lift it over the arm after I removed the bolt. The new one isn't budging at all. From the posts I read that this should've been simple, but it's not as simple from what I'm experiencing. Can anyone give me some help?

You need to search the forums. There is a thread telling you to set the strut on top of the engine, connect the electrical connector, but NOT the airline and then reconnect and disconnect your battery to have the system bleed the air from the strut. Be careful not to bleed too much, when the bag gets soft, you shoulf be able to put the strut in. You will hear the air bleed. If memory serves me correct, you hav to do it about 15 or so times to bleed enough air out.
