Could Hard to press and/or Tight Gas Pedal causes Tranny Problem?

Could Hard to press and/or Tight Gas Pedal causes Tranny Problem?
Has anyone ever experience a difficult to press gas pedal? Very tight and difficult to press (accelerate) compared to other non MB vehicles I have driven in the past. Is this a problem or a characterictic of the CLS and/or MB vehicles?
Also, vehicle seems to play around back and forth when downshifiting from second back to first when decelerating/driven at slow speed as if it is hesistating (stuck) or confused so to speak. Could the tight gas pedal be causing this tranny issue?
Note: Vehicle is still under original warranty.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My CLS pedals all seemed normal to me when I had mine. I would check to make sure there isn't some debris or something stuck in the pedal assembly.

Thanks jaedee for your response. Maybe it's just me. Wife drives car everyday..she not complaining..but I plan to have pedal and trans checked anyway. Thanks again
