HID Kit Help
Hello Everyone,
Like a lot of other people on this forum, my car did not come with the HID package from the dealer. I opted to go with a 6000k HID kit w/ 35 watt digital slim ballasts. After installation I noticed a slight flicker in my headlights once they were turned on, but it went away after the lights were hot.
After a month, my right headlight would just randomly turn off and then back on after some time. This continued until the headlight just completely stopped. I took the bulb out and turned the headlights on and saw that the bulb was getting surges but would not fully turn on. I switched ballasts from one side to another to see if it was the ballast and it still did the same thing. I ordered a new bulb and it turned on right away with the current ballast. However, I noticed the same thing on my right side again. The light would randomly just turn off and turn back on. So this time I decided to order a new ballast. And again after the new ballast and bulb setup its doing the same things.
After researching for awhile I came to the following things:
1. Try a CANBUS ballast-Which eliminates the flickering issue.
2. Try installing a relay harness-Installing this would send a bulb out message because one factory harness will not be connected.
3. Xenon=Present- I took my car to 3 different dealers in the Chicago area. 2 of them said they could not do it and the other one said $170 to do it.
4. Try purchasing 55w ballasts-I have read some other posts in this forum and heard of ppl buying 55w ddm ballasts and its working without issues.
I wanted your help and input to help solve my problem. Any feedback will be much appreciated!
Thanks!

I have a brand new set of CANBUS ballasts from DDM. I ordered them with my lights and didnt need them. You are welcome to them. $5 to cover shipping from California. I'm not sure if they will solve your problem, since they are typically used to get rid of "bulb out" messages.
