Tire / Wheel sizing help
I have a 2009 CLS 550 and am shopping for new wheels/tires. I'm only going with 19" diameter... wife's car.. ride quality is important to her.
I was thinking about going with Michelin Pilot Super Sport 295/30/19 on the rear which need a 10"-11" wide wheel. Stock suspension.
Anyone else running this tire / wheel width on the rear with no problems? What offset on the wheel works best with this width?
Or should I be save and stick to the standard 285/30/19 on 9.5" wide wheels?
Thanks!

If the car is going to be stock, I would go with 255-40-19 (27 inch) in the front and 285-35-19 (26.9 inch). This set will give additional protection to the wheels, ride will be good due to added rubber and decrease the gap between fender and tire which help from car looking like 4x4.
The down sides are your odometer will be off by a little (car will be going fast than what the odometer is reading) and car will take off little slower due to additional diameter of the wheel/tire.
As for the offset, it really depends on width of the wheels. For the front, you can go +26 on 9 inch width (maybe little more) and for the rear, you can go as high was +25 on 11 inch width.
Remember if you are increasing the width of the wheel by 1/2 inch, INCREASE the offset by +6. If you are going 1/2 lower, you can DECREASE the offset by -6.

winter set-up? what tires are you running? I am running my OEM 18s on Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2s that I bought new earlier this winter....not a very good tire IMHO.

winter setup
I went with the Bridgestone Blizzaks on 18's this winter. Only had one decent snow here this winter and it was OK. Supposed to get 6-12" tonight, so maybe I'll know better by the weekend.
