CLS oil pan seal replacement

Anyone have any information on how to replace the lower oil pan silicone seal. I noticed this needs to be done and have been searching all over the internet for information on how to do it but can't seem to find it. It seems the pan would not be able to be removed without removing the front end pieces. Any information on this job would be great.

basically has anyone been able to change this without taking apart the front end, it might just slide out.

So I took it to the dealer and they diagnosed it to be the lower oil pan. They quoted at 8 hrs labor. I know I could do this myself but the problem is that the front carriage has to be removed to get to this oil pan. Does anyone have directions to do this? Once that front is removed the oil pan is very easy to replace the seal. I don't want to go the stealership if I can do this myself. Please guy any info would be great..
