Saw a MB in Pittsburgh today with CLS500 on the left side of the decklid and AMG on the right side. A wikipedia search doesn't show that there is such a thing so figured I'd confirm here.

There is no such thing. CLS seem to be the most AMG posed car also, weird.
Anyways, no AMG car designation ends in a zero, they are usually 2 digit. So the CLS in 2006 (the year you were looking at) was offered as CLS500 and CLS55 AMG. The 500's usually have "AMG Package" which means the same body kit if you will, but they are entirely different cars. The 55 in this example is a supercharged V8 with upgraded breaks/suspension etc.
So you found yourself a poser! A lot of dealerships actually put the badge on so I am not assuming anything negative about the car owner... but he certainly does not have a CLS AMG.

Thanks for confirming. I also thought, as you mentioned, that AMGs tend to have one of the numbers dropped. Now that I know it's a poser, I'll need to take a better look to see if it's even a CLS500.... Heck, if you're going to pose why not just start with a C class and rebadge it as a CLS AMG.

Easiest way to check for an AMG model is to look at the brakes. Posers will badge their cars and some even manage to do the quad exhaust.
