Airmatic issue solved visit workshop car was stuck all the way up
Was driving home today and looked down to see a picture of a car with the up arrow saying visit workshop (photo down below). Immediately thought here we go with airmatic issues. Started doing a couple hours of research and figured it was most likely bad air compressor. Thought it was awkward that the vehicle was stuck in the highest position and the lowering settings would not drop the height of the vehicle. Also could not hear the air compressor kick on. Called the dealer but had to wait a week to get an appointment, so I said what the hell I don't have much going on tonight. Came across an interesting post from an airmatic issue from a 2001 S class. Guy said to check the harness on the air compressor. Did some more research found the air compressor is located on the drivers side of the vehicle under the plastic lining of the fender. Jacked the car up, a few screws and clips pulled back the lower half only of the fender lining. Checked around didnt' see anything but on further inspection checked the harness and seen the wire had torn. These wires are so tiny you could barely see the wire was split. Put the wire back together and taped it back up. Works perfectly. Wanna help someone if they have this issue to try this first as it's an easy DIY before you take it to the dealer.

I might have to look into this wire harness once i get back home, I've just replaced the compressor, but it's still not pumping air into my airbags...the compressor would shut off after a min or so once the car is turned on...thanks for the share! hopefully it'll solve the problem.
