I had a person from California do it for me. I sent him my front grill assembly. He did the work in few days and shipped it back to me. $180 total. It is a custom job, not an OEM part from MB. You can reach him through this website. He works here: eclipseyourcar.com

custom illuminated star done
so i took the next step and did it myself
the final paint job was outsourced since i dont have the space to do paintwork but im 100% satisfied with the job and i think it looks really good on the C219 model!! pics attached

so i purchased a replacement grill with the one fin off of Ebay... perfect fit and nice upgrade imo
there are a few different types to choose from all depending on your taste
next i purchased a light up star...Ebay as well...& took about 3wks from China
once i had both items i removed the stock 6in star that was in the grill (note: there are some grills on Ebay that come without the star and i probably could have purchased one of those for this project)
then i used a dremmel cutting tool to cut out a wider diameter to fit the light up star from China
this was probably the hardest step as i had to keep it somewhat circular and even without cutting into the fins on the side and without going to far at the bottom where there was less room to cut
the end result wasn’t a “perfect” circle but the gaps on the sides were barely noticeable
than i sanded it down a little and centered the light up star
i held it in place with a hot glue gun then reinforced it with some epoxy
the new star didn’t fit completely inside the grill but i got it in as close as possible
then i purchased some plastic epoxy putty sticks from my local Autozone (about 4 sticks to be exact) and used it as a filler to clean up all the gaps and create some continuity between the grill and the bezel of the star
once i was satisfied with the shape and form i wet sanded it down to bring back a more even and circular appearance which wasn’t too difficult because the star is already a perfect circle
next and final step was prime and paint but as i stated i A: dont have the space to do paintwork and B: i’ve never painted before so i knew i wanted a professional to handle this step
I’m all for experiment and learning through trial and error but after the effort i put into the project i didn’t want to mess it up and wasn’t sure what would be involved in starting over
so i reached out to a few local auto body shops and got some quotes and went with the cheapest with the quickest turn around time... took exactly one week and i was charged $175
They painted the whole grill over to make sure the color was a perfect match which was fine with me and voila! one of a kind custom led light up badge was complete!!
