Completed oil, coolant, filters, cam plugs
Changed oil, coolant, air filters, cabin filter, both cam plugs yesterday. These are simple things that anyone can do with a couple of basic tools and a torque wrench. Spent hours detailing the engine bay since all the covers were off. Looks nice and I cannot imagine how much money I saved and I know that it was done right.
The coolant was the only tricky part because I just did a drain of radiator. This leaves coolant in the block but I didn't want to get into block plugs and thermostat replacement. The process to drain the radiator is so simple that I will drain it two more times and will feel confident that I replaced enough of the old coolant.
Having a oil wrench (end cap type instead of band clamp) would have made that easier. I am going to pick one up for the next time.
If anyone is considering doing this but is worried about anything let me know. Don't pay ridiculous fees.
