mercedes center cap chrome removal ?

CLS 550 AMG pckg
Question mercedes center cap chrome removal ?
anyone know how to properly remove the chrome ring and star from the factory center caps without breaking them off? can it even be done?

my body shop is refinishing my wheels a diff color and I want to match the color but to do it right without breaking them or masking them the start has to be temporarily removed.

please give me some tips or help.

Flip one over....gotta have posts pushed through the base and maybe a little glue? I bet they could push from rear and get it off.
