Hello fellow members. I got a great deal on 2 exhaust mufflers from a 2006 E55 AMG. $600 shipped. My question, has anybody used those? Will it improve the sound? Will it require any work to fit them besides the welding of the exhaust tubes? And as far as diffuser goes, is the stock CLS550 sport diffuser interchangeable? I don't really want to cut up the bumper as I have seen some people do. I did this to me C300 and it was very very easy.

Cls550 sports has single dual exhaust tips. To get dual (2x2) set up, you would need as follow: 1st option, cut your rear bumper and buy a new lower diffuser for AMG ones ( cls55 or cls63 to 2011). Option 2, buy a new or used AMG bumper.
I was in your situation now. I bought the whole AMG oem body kit from a member here.
You'd like the way dual set up looks. Sounding wise, I couldn't tell since I have no real AMG cls55 nor cls63 to compare.
$600 shipped for the set up is great deal. My dual tips was $300+.

Thank you for your help. When I had my C300 the process was very easy as the diffuser is interchangeable. And it's not part of the bumper. I got under my car and saw the bumper extend to the bottom of diffuser. So the black piece is just a facia. Grrrr. I hate cutting up stuff! If I get a 55 bumper than it most likely paint match perfectly! Which is a big no no for me. Thank you for your advise again. I guess I'm gonna go with a carbon diffuser for a 55/63 bumper and cut up the current diffuser as it'll be covered.

Seems like my seller shipped the mufflers to wrong customer. Good thing I fought it half way thru shipping and notified them to re route the shipping.

I ordered the black fascia/diffuser part for a 2008 CLS63 from mymercedesparts.com for $110

Can't wait to put them on
