Cls500 gear stuck
Hi all,
I worked on my cls500 for weeks during winter.
I've upgraded a few things to get ready for Spring.
Three days ago, I took her out for 15-20 miles trip since it was 45*.
Upon return, I drove her straight to my garage. I couldn't put the gear selector past Neutral. I shifted back to D with no issues. Attempted to shift past N into R or P but it wouldn't go past any but N. I ended up leaving the car in N and the key also stuck in the ignition.
My mechanic came by today. He scanned but no codes. He checked for gear selenoid, cable, etc... Nothing was confirmed at this time. Any thoughts or experience with this matter? Please reply.

The shifter essembly was removed for close up inspection. The transmission isn't the problem. Every gear was shifted no problems.
