Question CLS500 excessive rear tire wear... normal??

Hi All.... I put on Bridgestone tires Potenza S-04 on my 2006 CLS500 about two years ago and they currently have 10K miles on them. The rear tires are worn almost to the point of needing to be replaced... maybe another 2k miles max!

With normal city highway driving is this excessive wear, normal for the CLS500?? Am I to expect this kind of wear with any tires I put on the car?

Thanks MB forum, I appreciate your input into this issue.........

That seems high. I got over 32K out the the rears on my Continental ContiSportContact 3's. Are they wearing evenly? Didi you get a wheel alignment with the new tires?

Yes and Yes. I'm thinking of replacing the rears with Continental Extreme Contact DWS. But just afraid that there is some other issue.

Your thoughts?

I'd blame your right foot if it's even wear.

Not lowered.... this CLS500 is original in every respect... as far as I know. Now it does have the Comfort/Sport I & II settings if desired, and I use Sport I most of the time as I like the ride better, but that shouldn't have anything to do with it.

What tires are you using now?

Do you often carry back seat passengers or a lot of gear in your trunk?

The sport mode is lowering the car and when the chassis is lower the inside of the tires will wear more IIRC. Anyone disagree? thx
