opening doors with remote?

opening doors with remote?
So my keyless go works fine when its in my pocket and i open any door with the car being off. Doors open all is good.
Problem is when the car is turned on and the key will not open any other doors or trunk throudh the keyless go key. I have to manuallu open the doors and trunk from the interior.
Anyother car ive ever owned allowed you to open doors and trunk with the remote regardless wether the car was on or off. So my question is why does this "luxury" car not allow this vasic function? Its so annoying. Am i doi g something wrong here???
