Check engine light/Crank sensor related

2006 CLS 500 74k miles

Cheaped out the other day and put mid-grade, never done this before but I read where others have not had problems with it.
Check engine light comes on in the next 10 miles. I figure it's the fuel so I get some octane booster and fill up with premium.
Check engine light stays on, I figure it'll take a few miles to correct itself

Go out to dinner, everything is great (besides the annoying light). Come out of the restaurant, no start....
Take an uber home and come back the next day ready to set up a tow....car starts, light is still on.

I stop at the nearest part house and they tell me I have a Crankshaft position sensor malfunction, Sensor A.

Advice, please?

CPS symptoms, random starting problems when the engine is hot. Shop Bosch, OEM part # 0031532828 I would suggest not using aftermarket.

I ordered Bosch Original Equipment 0261210170 Crankshaft Position Sensor on Amazon.

Did I get the wrong one?

Thank you for all your help, sensor scheduled to arrive Friday. I haven't had a no start or stall condition yet but I'm afraid to drive it based on what it acted like. Once I change the sensor can I get any parthouse to reset the light or is there anything else I need to do to ensure a good install

CEL should clear on its own, sometimes after a few trips.
