Retrofitting newer type air vents to W219?

Hi guys,

I am wondering if anyone knows if its possible to put the newer looking air vents into a 2005 CLS 500? I saw one guy here that did this mod but I am wondering if it just is a straight swap??

Hello!

Probably the "one guy here" is me

Well, I did it and I can tell everything to you dont have surprises:

The CLA (A-Class) vents fit, others I dont know (like the C Class or S Class). If they have the same diameter than the A-Class they should also fit.

The vent is the same diameter than ours. So it fit "with pressure", not with clips. To inprove the grip I used rubber tape arround the vent and it fit perfectly (you cant see the tape, is on the inner side)

Inside, it doesn't fit on the air conduct, BUT the air flux comes exactly how it should, so it is not a problem.

So it's a good option in my opinion.
