Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen,
Appreciative lurker and first time poster here for an issue. Have had my car for about 6 months now and after about 4 months the factory japanese head unit does not power on for me at all.
One day i got in the car and no head unit, press the power button no head unit. Stopped the car and turned it off then tried again, nope, nada would not go. held a flashlight to the screen to check if the screen only is dead, but nope there is no signs of life.
In the intrument cluster, the options for NAV and RADIO(or similar) just show two lines next to them, not sure what they mean but wont be surprised if the unit is not being recognised at all.Did some research and found that Fuse 28 is forRadio, Navigation, COMAND, Stereo, Audio. pulled it out, inspected - is ok so put it back and tried again. still no go.
So has anyone got any ideas on what i can do next to try and figure this out? the only think i havent done is take it to a dealer to have it looked at. Dont want to waste any money at a stealership though.
I have been looking at this after market head unit which claims to be compatible with the Fibre optic MOST wiring and HK amp. My car has Harman Kardon speaker system.

Usually if there is a problem you would still get the logo startup before it shutdown again.
I would check the connections for voltage.
