Slight vibration in drive and reverse but goes away in neutral and park.

Just like the title says. I am assuming it is the motor mounts (they are overdue for a change and I am getting ready to do this) but could this be anything else? The vibration is very slight... not anywhere near the level you'd feel before the car gets ready to shut off.

Likely the mounts. When mine went bad recently on ml '14 GL, I had a shudder in reverse at startup. Service inv says motor mounts had "collapsed". It also said mounts were tested "under load". So for you, no load in N or P, no vibration, same as mine.

For that vibration I would start with transmission and differential mounts

I changed the transmounts about 2-3 years ago with new oem benz ones and even then it wasn't necessary. Wasn't aware of how a differential mount would manifest itself. I have noticed that the car has these rough idles from a cold start but as I drive more and the engine heats up maybe after 30 minutes or so it begins to settle a bit and not be as pronounced... could this be something else?
