I want to get rid of the chrome around the windows on my CLS, thinking of getting some black vinyl wrap and using that. Question is though, do I get Matt Black or Gloss Black?

Has anyone done it? have any example photos?

What color is your car?

 

Not sure on the official colour name, it’s a bluey grey.

 

I'd probably go with the gloss but that's just me. Did you get your wheels powder coated? They look good. I'm suddenly seeing all the stock 18"s getting painted.

 

Thanks, they were powder coated a couple of weeks ago after the tyre depo kindly wrecked them for me. Fortunately it ended up not costing me anything 😀.

 

Nice, i've been wanting to get mine powder coated for the longest... looks like tyre depo are some stand up guys. Did you lower the car also?

I had my chrome window trims done gloss black vinyl btw my car is black though... I'll see if I can get you a picture later.

Have you considered a carbon fiber wrap? I did CF on my w203 and it looked really nice. Have you done this before, and are you confident you can get out all the wrinkles??

 

I work with carbon fibre professionally, a fake vinyl wrap will never look good to me.

I’m fairly confident I’ll be able to give the wrap a good go, if it doesn’t work it will come off again.

 

Ha, thanks. They were only powder coated a couple of weeks ago. Washing them inside and out now every time the car gets a wash.

 

Yea, she’s riding on home made links on the front and slotted subframe holes on the rear.

 

I think gloss would be nice, just my 2 cents
