What are your highs and lows of owning a CLS??
Everyday I drive my CLS500 is a thrill. The smooth ride, precise handling, and exciting performance from the 5.0L engine almost always brings a smile to my face. Other days I get annoyed by the COMMAND system and very much annoyed by mechanical problems.
SO, I thought I would make a thread so owners could identify their highs and lows of owning a CLS, hopefully people will chime in:
HIGHS:
Acceleration
7 Speed Transmission Operation
Smooth but Precise Handling, Ride Quality
Interior and Exterior Styling
Relatively Good MPG Given 5.0L Engine and Weight of Vehicle
Exhaust Sounds with Resonator Deleted
Performance Going Around Curves
LOWS;
Mechanical Problems (Airmatic, Crankshaft Pulley, Crankshaft Position Sensor)
High Insurance Costs
Rust (behind license plate)
Boring COMMAND Interface
Some Blind Spots (but manageable)
Car is a bit hard to park since it is so long
Car is a bit TOO beautiful, and attracts unwanted attention sometimes
SBC brakes are annoying (and a little scary)
High Cost of Maintenance even DIY

Harmon Kardon System - Sound sucks. Replaced this past weekend. See my post on June 25th
