3rd brake light warning 2008 CLS550
I have searched the forum to see if there is anything specific for the CLS. I did find several postings about wires in harness being broken but for the E-class. the main difference is that on the CLS the 3rd brake light is not on the trunk so it can;t be the same wiring for that specific problem. I bumped once into a post stating that there is a fuse for the brake pedal switch that may be the issue but I can;t find it.
Anyone would know where to look? I don't think the LED bar is bad - it should be a wire somewhere with the issue. Everything else works - trunk release, lights, buttons etc.
Thanks!

Had this problem on my 2009 cls. Took it to my dealer and it turned out to be fracture in the wiring on the left hand side of the trunk hinge. They repaired it and now all OK. Dealer told me it is a common problem. Hope this helps.

Need advise for 219 3rd brake light warning lighy
We fixed the broken wire at the left trunk hinge. That fixed the rear tail lights and auto close trunk. The 3rd brake light warning light still coming on after every start up. Light is drginitely out too. Replaced brake pedal switch cause its cheap and easy but thats not it either. Light does work every now and then for a few mins then warning light pops up again so its not the light assembly either. Dealer wants 200 per hour with no promise of finding it in under 8 hours. Comeon. This us a common problem from what i read. Im sure they know exactly what it is but want 1600 plus to diagnose it atva minimum. HELP US PLEASE! Thank you
