722.9Transmission P0748-ELECTRICAL CHECK OF THE K1 CLUTCH CONTROL SOLENOID HAS FAILED
Hi Everyone,
2006 W219, transmission jerks when shifted to drive/reverse and stuck in 1st gear when in drive ( doesnt shift to 2nd/3rd and so-on).
i have gone through lot of post with repsect to conductor-plate(VGS) faliure ,but most of them are linked to speed senor faliure.
DAS remedy action for P0748 states replacment of the electro/hydraulic unit.
Question - Would solenoid replacment correct this problem
Note : Replaced transmission oil/filter 5 months ago with new gasket and yeild to torque bolts
please assist
( i have access to C3 Star Diagnoisitcs - Cloned )

Theoretically yes, if this is the only fault code upon removing conductor plate check it inclusive of solenoids for debris. This could resolve matter. Condition and ambition will dictate cleaning, replacing all solenoids, or complete conductor plate replacement considering having to go in a second time using process of elimination.

Thanx for the prompt reply, i will look into replacing k1 solenoid, any specific procedure which could help to check individual solenoid (internal resistance check) while i am there to confirm a bad solenoid. 2ndly any recommendation on where i could purchase parts at resonable price.
Looked up the cleaning procedure, solenoids to be cleaned in a bath of new ATF fluid. Seems doable as diy. Some videos sujjest not to clean the valve body. All ideas welcome.
Going down the lane of replacing the conductor plate would involve scn coding online (dont think my C3 would be able to do online coding)

Don't waste your time replacing the solenoid or cleaning them. The problem is your conductor plate. I do this conductor plates in my shop all the time.
