Illuminated Star work around possible with Distronic?

Illuminated Star work around possible with Distronic?
I have read that the illuminated star is not an option with Distronic. I am guessing because the radar is behind the "Star" emblem which is flat plastic.

Is there any way around this for our class car? I found someone customized a Mercedes SUV in this forum, but I don't know if it's possible with the different grille....

I love the look of the illuminated star at night time .
