Power steering issue
I have a base model CLS550 2011, I've had this issue with the steering ever since I bought the car from a dealer. I bought it used but didn't notice the problem at the time.
When I turn on a corner the steering wheel doesn't return to center like it should, it does so but very slowly, to the point I have to bring it back or hit the curb. I was told it could be just because I'm going slow, but I tried doing it at higher speeds and although the wheel does return to center a little bit initially it slows down real quick and still drags me towards the curb and I have to intervene. It's not normal.
I brought it to a mechanic, they looked at the suspension and said it was all good so they went ahead and replaced the steering rack, didn't help.
They replaced the solenoid, didn't help.
Now they said the only thing left is the power steering pump to be replaced.
Anybody here ever had this problem? Any thoughts? what should I do? The power steering pump replacement doesn't make sense to me...

I would make sure that a hub isn’t dragging. Jack front up and center point. Spin both wheels manually and see if one is tighter than the other.
I can’t imagine alignment being able to affect this as much as you describe.
