WHY IS CLS Priced more than an E-Class????

Seems like from all the reviews, test drives and first impressions of the new CLS class it is basically of the same quality of the E-class. It uses the same engine, same suspension, same brakes, very similar interiors and it seems as though there is nothing better about it at all. So why is it priced about 15% more than an E-class??? If someone can give me a reason for this I am considering purchasing it for early next year. But if it is the same car as the E-class but with different styling, forget about it~!

Please any opinions or ideas would be appreciated.

thanks

1. prestige
2. however better quality [i think]
3. frameless doors
4. CLS badge
5. new look
6. nice interior

but seriously, there is no BIG reason why the CLS is priced more than E-class.

I thought it is pretty reasonable and logical to have the CLS coupe priced higher than the E. The CLK coupe is designed based on C, and comparing its class and item by item, it is in every aspect of features less than a E class.
However, the price of CLK is not so much difference with the E (unless the E is fully loaded). In a way, the CLK is 'equal or more expensive' than a E if we look at it based on features/$.

Now, CLS gives you every aspect of a E plus better interior, great back seatings. And, it is a deluxe coupe class comparable to the BMW 645ci except the CLS has 4 doors !

I am not sure about USA, but in Asia, 'coupe class' always priced more.
Go for it , you won't regret it. You get choice of a 3.5 litre + a 7G.
( You can wait for the E350+7G if they do sell in USA )

My 2cents

Mercedes placed the CLS line between the E-Class and the S-Class saloons.

Therefore the price falls in that order.
