P034100 + P034200 2012 CLS550 - probably need a new cam position sensor
Hello MBForum,
Got my Xentry, ran the diagnostic - P034100 & P034200 both surrounding cam shaft position sensor cylinder 1
Anyone know which side that is? driver or passenger? I heard right and left the other day, got real mad.
I could post the Xentry report here, but 34200 says ground fault on the sensor 85k seems about right for a dead sensor.
Car is rough at idol since i bought it in January put maybe 2k on since, 30 seconds later purrs without issue.
Did miss twice going about 3 mph the day before the light came on, but ran fine that day. I expected something to notice the misses, and if i were to start and just pull out in one motion it'd miss then too.
So just looking for some peer input on this.
I also read that a low battery voltage from an old battery may be a cause, but that ground fault really makes me think sensor, and god forbid wiring harness.
parts counter won't pickup anyway so we got all weekend to not work on this.
thoughts?
and it's a 2012 cls550 v8 twin turbo - still not sure which i am C218 / C219 / etc? I bet i have the tools to figure it out.
And if there's any how to use the Xentry system and not break anything short list that'd be helpful.
thanks!
