BMW 335i and w211 E500.

2009 CLS550- normal IDLE Speed

Summer so AC is running most of the time. I find the idle speed likes to hang out at around 800rpm most of the time. Is 800 rpm an acceptable idle speed? I have owned the vehicle for about 1 month now. I am the 2nd owner. Mileage is at 70,000. Thanks.

Is it idling smoothly? Some variation is normal but it shouldn't stumble or sound like it might stall or vibrate the car.
Iirc mine is also right around the 8-9 mark. I'll double check it tomorrow.

Thank you for the information. No erratic idle or blipping RPM, holds pretty steady at 800-900 rpm. It seems this is normal behavior for the naturally aspirated 5.5 liter V8.

2011 CLS550

My idle is around 650-750 when warmed up to temperature. no codes or errors. I'm sure she could use new ignition components though. going to roll over 130k this afternoon on my commute to work
