Front window seal replacement
Purchased a CLS500 2006 recently, the car has been sitting outside for quite a while.
The window seal/rubber on the front windows has small rips and seems to be quite dried out.
As a result, you can hear wind/howling from both sides when going highway speeds, slightly lowering window reduces the noise.
I'm wondering has anyone replaced these weatherstrip/seals? They seem to be sitting behind the trim.
Also wondering if any aftermarket, universal strips can be placed instead, since the OEMs seems to be 200+ for each.
With each corner of the car costing $1000,- or more! Surely this can't be it for this issue.
So I second this post, please help.
Front left part nr.: A2197200154 - ( € 870,84 / $ 1.021.33 )
Rear left part nr.: A2197300778 - ( € 1.053,80 / $ 1.235,70 )
Front right part nr.: A2197200254 - ( € 870,84 / $ 1.021.33 )
Rear right part nr.: A2197300878 - ( € 1.053,80 / $ 1.235,70 )
Meaning if you wanted to replace all corners of the car (likely if one side is perished or dried out), you'd need to spend € 3.849,28 or $ 4513,49!!!
For now good second hand used is the only way to go, but good grieve. This needs some attention.
