clear plastic stone protection

Has anyone noticed that the car comes with clear plastic film on the front side of the rear tire wells.

yep - the side rear-view mirrors have it too - since the back is wider than the front and the front tires can kick up debris and hit the back, the clear "plastic film" helps protect it as I undertand it.

Not real noticable unless you are looking for it.

i brought mine home yesterday and was giving it a wipe down when i noticed the film, i actually thought it was a scratch at first when i saw the edge, then i recalled an earlier post about the protectant. i was quite relieved

i was looking at the car today and noticed it and I had a "wtf" face.
too bad the edges are white

Did MB put the protective film on the headlights also? Notice the fine horizontal line across the headlight. Is this film?

Along the same lines, does anyone know if a bra is available for the CLS? I have a 1500-mile highway trip home when I get mine and the same trip destroyed the front end of my 540 last year with rock chips.
