Remote start issue
Been trying to use the remote start but it's not working. The app will start the car but then immediately shuts it down. Discussed with dealer and they say this is a known issue and MB is working on a solution. I am curious does the remote start work for any of you?

Remote start works perfectly for me. The vehicle will shut down as soon as you unlock the car. This is normal, as the function is made for you to remotely start and warm up the car during winter time while the vehicle is locked.
Once you, unlock it from your key fob or have your hand on the handle, the car automatically shuts off the engine, unlocks the doors, and you will need to reset the engine by yourself once you get into the car.

mine usually works - but it is surprising that MB would launch this app in its current state. The app is incredibly buggy and highly unreliable. It took me several hours and a dozen tries to get the app downloaded in a usable form. Even now, it only works for me about 70% of the time. I would expect something like this on an imported lawnmower - not a 100k car.

also the climate control = ( I think most car manufacturer that has a phone app has a setting to adjust the temperature. sad Mercedes Me does not.

I took mine in today. I emailed them a copy of the message to my phone saying the module in the car is not working. Waiting to hear what they will do.

Let me know....I've had this happen to me today.
When it's in working state.
After holding down engine start, the app/text/email would notify me about within 10-30secs (yes there is a bit of delay)
When it's not working today.
After holding down engine start, the animation will continue to circle and loop and there is no way to cancel and force shut down the app and re-start the engine. You have to wait quite a while but by then, you've already headed out to start the car yourself...
so this happened today.
Is this what happened?

No that is not the error I am getting. The message says "engine was switched off because the engine control modular engine itself was unexpectedly switched off"

That's the message I'm getting. Service sent the message to MB and we are still waiting for a reply.

hopefully they fix this remote start thing. the whole app is quite slow...
i've been using it, it doesn't always start. Maybe at a rate of 70% of the time only. Other times, it would fail to start.
Also dislike the fact there is no options to control the temperature, and defrost options.

Also, I was going through the Mercedes Me portal. It mention these app features mostly expires after 36 months? I can't recall, but if you login in the desktop web version of the Mercedes Me, it gives you an outline of each individual feature of what is on a "term".
I was told when I took delivery that it won't expire. Oh well, we'll see. Kinda sucks to have to pay for remote start if it's going to be a yearly plan/monthly ongoing thing.

I got an email from MB Friday advising me they are working on it. I took delivery of my car Dec.14th and the remote start has never worked. Needless to say I'm pissed.

Yes I feel the same. They sell the car with this as a feature so you assume it works. I travel every week and more than 60% of the cars I drive have remote start features. How in the hell can MB not figure this out.
Living in Florida this is a really needed feature so much so that when I was comparing my next car I didn't look at anything that didn't have this feature.

Finally! I got an email from MercedesMe yesterday advising that they have a fix for the remote start on the CLS. I have an appointment for a car module download on Thursday. Hopefully this is the solution to my problem. I have had the car three months and the remote start has never worked.I also called them today and the person that was familiar with my file says its been tested and it works. He also told me this was specific to the CLS.

That’s great. It’s getting hot in Florida so this will definitely be a benefit. I just left my service advisor a VM to schedule an appointment.

It's working!!! Only took three months but I can now start the car with my phone. Too bad the winter is over. However, I get a message the car will turn off in ten minutes. I suppose there is a way to extend that time. I will call MercedesMe for instructions.

for those that received an update, did any other *new* MB UX features show up...or does it only correct the auto start issue? I'm curious if we'll ever see the "Hey Mercedes" functionality...
