2014 CLS 550
Question 2014 CLS 550 60K mile service options

I recently purchased a 2014 CLS 550 3 months ago at 56k miles, and expect to cross the 60k mile marker later this month. I will likely get the 60k done in November, however a neighbor who owns a 2012 CLS 550 suggested to go to the dealer for all milestone service, and pay for a prepaid service package. I am unfamiliar with what he is speaking of. In the past, I have taken my import nicer cars to local well reviewed shops for these types of services.

The dealership quoted me $1500 for the 60k service, and I plan on getting quotes Monday at indy dealers.

Thoughts? Should I do as my neighbor said, or will I expect to see a price difference substantial enough that going the indy mechanic route makes sense?

Prepaid maintenance is small cost savings, if there are any savings at all. If you are considering not purchasing a prepaid plan, it will not be to your detriment.

Good idea to have all maintenance up to schedule. At 60k miles the following should be, or should have been, done:

engine air filter
spark plugs
transmission service

In addition to normal services including engine oil and filter, cabin filters, brake fluid replacement and windshield wipers (as needed).

How are the brake pads and rotors?
