I have a electrical gremlin I am having problems tracking down. when the key is put to the on position (not start/crank) the 20amp starter fuse is the #7 position of the under hood fuse box blows. shop recommended starter, starter replaced but issue persists, also replaced starter relay.

With Relay removed fuse is fine. With key in accessory fuse is also fine, it blows before I can even try to crank.

Anyone know of any common problems?

Or maybe have a wiring diagram of the starter & ignition switch circuit?

With easy access on the top of fuse panel there is a connector that include a Violet with White 2,5mm cable, that's connect the M ( starter Relay) with the Starter. Disconnect the connector with the Violet wire and try again, this way will find out if the violet wire is smashed on his way to the starter or the SAM is blown.
