Also for anyone who changed the city lights themselves, how do you get the bulb out of the housing? Do you just pull or do you have to twist first?
CLS55 uses H7, the city light all you do is pull, no twisting needed.

I was trying to pull and twist it last night but neither way was working for me. Felt like my hands were too big to get a good grip. Did you have to remove the high beam bulb to get better grip?

Thanks

Ok final question, You know how the led bulbs are flat with 1 led on each side......so did you put the led bulbs with the led's facing left and right or up and down?

Thanks

ssonss1 has a step by step for the plate lights in this thread.

As far as the city lights, it was a slight pain, but not too bad. Just remove the cover on the back of the housing. Then pull out the highbeam bulb, I kept it connected and just move it out of the way. Next just get your hand in there and pull out the city light.....this might require some force and you need small hands to get a good grip. I also had to file the sides of the new bulb to get them to fit in there.

Well I failed horribly, guess I'll take them to a shop. I couldnt even get the city lights out which from what Ive read is the easiest light to switch, I dont understand how you guys were able to get a grip on it or maybe my thumb is just too short.

Did you remove the highbeam bulb first to make room to reach the city light? It does take some squeezing and you will end up with cuts around your hands and fingers trying to get the bulbs out.

The first day when I tried to change mine I couldnt get them out if my life depended on it. I have done alot harder mods and thought to myself why is this so hard? I asked a few questions here and tried again the next day and took like 15 min to do both sides.

Yepp did that and still no luck I was messing around with it for about 20 minutes also ended up with the cuts on hands. I might take another shot at it later today if not Ill just take it to someone although I hate paying for something that I should be doing myself.

They do work in the side lenses, I actually tried them in the side markers before I installed them in the city light position. I ended up just getting a more basic led bulb for the side marker b/c it was alot cheaper and then just added a resistor to each side.

These are the bulbs I used for the side marker http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT

Will try to take some pics later tonight.

Easiest way to do pull out the city lights is to use monkey pliers.

I had the same issues as well. It helps to remove the air intake ducts coming down on both sides (you just pull out gently). Then as the previous post states use some pliers to get at it. I did a slight twist and pull.

On one of the sides there is a unit (i think driver's side, forget what it is) that can be unbolted and pushed aside so that you can get your arms in further. I can't remember if i unbolted this for the for the city lights or the low beams. Best of luck dude.

Does anyone else have any regrets after installing these? In my opinion the city lights are too blue. If you look at it from a distance at night, the color of these really stand out compared to the headlights. I actually think they look "ricey." At least with the factory headlights. I need something more white.

They don't match up well with the stock low beams, I changed my lows and fogs to 6000k and everything matches up perfectly without looking too ricey. Pics are on the top of this page.
