Niggles
1. There's been a slight overflow of coolant out of the front reservoir when the car is up to operating temperature. I pulled off the cover over the reservoirs and could see some dried coolant around the area. It's not puddling under car - but I can smell it and see where it dries down the sides of the reservoir. Have been told by the tech that the SLS was known to do this at times - and that AMG overfills to a certain degree, the coolant and that it would eventually get to the proper level. I've never had a new properly functioning car do anything like this. To me it would seem the pressure release threshold of the cap may be too low. No overheating whatsoever on the temp gauge. Did have a "blue" coolant message briefly flash twice. Possibly it was the sensor sensing an overfilled condition vs an overheating condition. Thoughts?
2. There is a pesky vibration that appears to be coming form the crossbar area that only starts after about 2-3 minutes of driving when going over rough pavement or road imperfections. Sounds like a vibratory, resonating buzzing that must be resonating through the aluminum cross brace after some components get up to a certain temperature. Can't imagine what it could be.

For both - taking it in this week for them to evaluate.
I think if I can get beyond these hopefully small issues, the car is something special. The exhaust note always brings a smile

To cec69 - the cars have a bit of a delay, especially in Comfort mode when starting off - feels like a manual. This is normal.

It is caused by the structural struts which require torquing.
Take it to your dealer and they should have the info on the fix.

Reason for change
Complaint
Cracking noises from the area of the windshield/ engine compartment when driving over undulations or speedbumps.
Cause
Engine compartment diagonal strut
Remedy
Modify contact surfaces of engine compartment diagonal strut on left and right.
Note:
The operation steps are described for the right diagonal strut as an example, but must be performed on both struts.
Work procedure:
1. Remove diagonal strut (Figure 1; item A)
2. Check flatness of contact surface for diagonal strut in area of windshield (Figure 2, item B)
3. Sand the contact surface for the diagonal strut in the area of the windshield using emery cloth or abrasive paper (120 grit) (Figure 2, shaded area)
Note:
Only sand lightly in the immediate contact area and do not sand down to the bare metal.
4. Repeat the work at the front contact point (Figure 3, item C and shaded area)
5. Clean and recut all threads (5x per diagonal strut)
6. Also sand the contact surfaces on the diagonal struts (Figure 4; item D and shaded area)
7. Install diagonal struts (revised torque: 30Nm)

Have had the Edition 1 for just a month but only 750 miles to date. Like it lots more than the SLS I owned for two-years!
