BS Comparison

Hey Vic 55, maybe I missed it, but can you compare your BS to the GTS?

Probably in some thread here or on a different forum.... but my quick thoughts:

The GTS is faster, launches better, handles better, and has the better interior- for me. A big win for the GTS is with the DCT transmission. Faster shifts with more efficient power deliver to the ground (as indicated by the numbers the GTS delivers for a "relatively" lower hp car vs other cars). The MCT in the BS is just archaic in comparo; it can handle boat loads of tq but its just not in the same league. I also feel that MB did a tremendous job with its software applications to the GTS when driving in auto mode. The gears hold and then when slowing down, they shift correctly so I'm always in the right gear- all this in Auto mode via S+. The sound is highly comparable even though the BS has the 6.2l NA engine. I find the the steering is slightly better in the GTS with less understeer in heavy and sharp turns. The BS is still a circa 3900 lb car and the weight is felt in comparison. What is shocking is the hot V setup in the 4.0 creates great throttle response to mirror the NA feel in the BS. Its hard to compare the technology piece since the BS was built in March of 2012 and the GTS has time on its side but since its an opinion, I love the GTS and like the BS inside. The seats and driver focus are so prevalent in the GTS. Braking is relatively equal (I don't have CCB's on the GTS) and looks are highly subjective but I think I like the BS just a touch over the GTS here due to its wide haunches up front and double double's in the rear; but its oh so close!!

When it comes to modding there is no comparo since FA is so easily modable vs NA. A simple tune puts the GTS into the next league. The BS is just that car that shouldn't go away though- a C class AMG with the extra oooomph and bulldog stance and roar. I have no doubt that if the BS came out today it would have interior amenities and tech to match the GTS.

She is pretty tho:

I also agree with Vic's thoughts on the differences between my B S and the A M G gts I drove in Cali last Dec 2012 vs 2016 That's the difference Both are FANTASTIC cars for their time The B S being rarer

Thanks for your insight Vic. I am waiting to see what the GTS BS (I hope one will arrive in about 2019) will bring.
